“My depth of anxiety measures my distance from my Greater Power and my Faith”
My anxiety is a normal reaction to any event that may seemingly or actually put me in a dangerous position or in an unwanted situation. It is my Auto response towards getting prepared, mentally and physically, for an event that may demand extra performance from my body and mind. This will keep happening as long as my mind and body is in a position to sense and act.
A thought that things, in future, will be normal or as per my desire, brings these anxiety levels to a lower state. The mind and body starts understanding that the current situation is not a permanent situation or the final situation. They can visualize a relief in near future. This brings a relief.
However, mere thoughts do not help. Thoughts come and go. Thoughts are replaced by new thoughts that may be more negative or anxious. This frequent change of thoughts produces further anxiety and stress and engulfs the mind and body in an ever growing cycle of anxiety. Thoughts sometimes do not have any power if they are not supported by a belief. A belief that the things will be all right. A belief that things will become better. A belief that things will not remain the same and will change for better or in my favour.
The absence of this belief or faith is the power of fear or anxiety. My anxiety and fears survive and become strong in absence of my faith. A faith in the fact that things will change. A faith in a power that is greater than me and not just me. A faith without any analysis. Analysis originates from my doubts. A faith without doubts.
The stronger is my faith or belief that things will be better; the lesser will be my state of anxiety. A belief and a faith that is not only limited to the acceptance of a greater power but a belief and a faith that this power can help me, will help me and is helping me for my good.
Whenever I am anxious, I must check my distance from my greater power and my faith.
I must make efforts to bridge this gap. It will not happen automatically. It needs my commitment and action. An action that is in line with the faith and belief.
