Paradise Lost and Paradise Regained
This, though, a very bold statement to relate to my experiences, actually can be completely identified with the two epics written by John Milton.
The narration in the poems is exactly what I go through. I am made, it seems, to enjoy myself. Enjoy my stay on this planet earth. All my basic instincts are to a certain extent guidelines to my enjoyment. But they are just guidelines. The moment I cross the lines,,,the joy is gone.
The epic by John Milton is a description of how things changed when the instincts became misdirected or excessive and the things again changed when instincts were controlled. That is paradise lost and found.
I have also gone through the same process of paradise lost and paradise found. The major difference is that I have been going through it continuously on a regular basis. For me, it is a never ending process.
Although for certain things, I may feel that the process is over and I may have to never lose my paradise again but on a micro level, it seems to be happening every day, every moment.
I gain and I lose and I regain and I lose again and I regain…..
There is a continuous struggle, between the two forces. The moment one is not consistent, the other becomes stronger. One is a pulling force and the other needs a great amount of push within.
I can observe this process of paradise lost and regained on macro as well as micro level. I can observe it as a long process covering the entire life span with few slips and falls to a minute momentary process of feelings changing within a fraction of a second. I can observe it happening every day, every hour and sometimes every moment.
I can observe it happening before and after and during any decision process.
In fact, I understand that this observation of paradise lost and regained itself is a part of paradise regained.
The moment I lose contact with awareness of this observation, I lose my paradise.
This awareness is paradise. This awareness keeps me working towards regaining and keeping myself within paradise. This awareness keeps my positive forces working and making that continuous PUSH.
I understand that my life is a process of every day efforts towards paradise. I understand that the giant step or movement towards paradise is made up of every day, every moment, small steps of regaining paradise.
I will keep losing and regaining paradise. I will be aware of this process. I will keep pushing towards paradise by understanding that paradise is not permanent if I do not consciously and continuously work towards keeping it.
I understand that paradise is a process and not a state.
